Three exercise programmes
The BeweegKuur consists of exercise prescribed by your GP, combined with attention to healthy eating. There are three different programmes to start exercising – they differ from one other in the degree of supervision involved. A lifestyle consultant will assign you to one of the programmes, depending on your physical health and previous exercise ‘experience’. In the independent exercise programme (‘Zelfstandig Beweegprogramma’), you will take part in mainstream sports and exercise activities from the start. The lifestyle consultant will supervise and coach you. During the start-up programme (‘Opstartprogramma’), a physiotherapist will give advice and offer guidance. People taking part in the supervised exercise programme (‘Begeleid Beweegprogramma’) start out exercising in groups under the supervision of a physiotherapist. They will go on to one of the other two (local) programmes later on.
